Minnesota AFL-CIO President Bill McCarthy responded to the recent news of allegations of sexual harassment at the Minnesota Capitol:
“The reports of sexual harassment at the Minnesota State Capitol, a place that should be setting an example for our entire state, are both disgraceful and disappointing. Minnesota’s Labor movement strongly condemns sexual harassment at any workplace; whether it’s a factory, construction site, school, or the State Capitol.
“Working people shouldn’t be forced to do their jobs in an environment of harassment or live in fear of retaliation for speaking up.
“We join with others in calling on the Legislature to immediately reexamine and strengthen its sexual harassment policy.”
