Minnesota's new state senator Jason Rarick won the special election in Senate District 11 last night by 956 votes, a margin just above 6% (52%-45.9%).
Though labor-endorsed candidate Stu Lourey did not prevail, we made an extensive effort to drive in votes for Lourey from Union families across the district.
- 3,982 labor-to-labor calls with 598 conversations
- 500 handwritten postcards to members
- 2,700 pieces of mail to union households
- 3,928 members and householders targeted with pro-Lourey ads on Facebook.
We hope that Senator Rarick will start his senate career positively and grow his lifetime labor record that currently holds at 15.7%.
