We’re releasing this episode on April 27, the day before Workers Memorial Day.
Every year on April 28, the unions of the AFL-CIO observe Workers Memorial Day to remember those who have suffered and died on the job and to renew our efforts for safe workplaces. That’s what this episode is all about.
Our guests are Tim Headlee, President of AFSCME Local 404, who works at the St. Peter Security Hospital and Jackie Spanjers, President of AFSCME Local 1307, who works at the Anoka Metro Regional Treatment Center. Tim and Jackie share their stories about the need for safer staffing at their workplaces.
Fair warning, some of the stories shared are graphic in nature. If you’re easily disturbed, please skip this episode.
