Minnesota AFL-CIO President Bill McCarthy announced today that he has named Haylee Hilton to serve as Field Director for the state’s largest labor federation. Hilton succeeds outgoing Field Director Pommella Wegmann who was recently elected President of the Southeast Minnesota Area Labor Council.
“As we get closer to what is shaping up to be the most important election of our lifetime, Minnesota’s Labor Movement will be well-served with Haylee coordinating our member-to-member outreach efforts both this year and beyond,” McCarthy said.
Hilton, who most recently served as Organizer for Local 12 of the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU) brings a breadth of experience in Labor and politics to the Minnesota AFL-CIO – including prior work for Teamsters Local 120 and 2nd District Congresswoman Angie Craig’s 2018 campaign.
“When we join together, working people are a powerful force in Minnesota and across the country,” Hilton said. “I am so excited to join the Minnesota AFL-CIO to help build a stronger future for our families and ensure workers have a voice in government.”
