Minnesota AFL-CIO endorses Zack Filipovich for State Auditor

The Minnesota AFL-CIO, the state’s federation of more than 1,000 local unions that collectively represent more than 300,000 working people, endorsed Zack Filipovich for State Auditor today.

“Minnesotans deserve accountability and transparency in our local governments, and a qualified and effective State Auditor is vital to that goal,” said Minnesota AFL-CIO President Bernie Burnham. “As the only accountant in the race, combined with his experience in local government, Zack Filipovich will be a State Auditor working Minnesotans can depend on.”

Counting nearly every union in the state among its affiliates, the Minnesota AFL-CIO is the Labor Movement’s shared voice, and candidates with the federation’s backing can truly call themselves “Labor Endorsed.”

As Democrats gather for this weekend’s DFL convention in Rochester, the Minnesota AFL-CIO is encouraging union member delegates to support Zack and all Labor-endorsed candidates.

“Union members know that we are stronger when we act together, whether that’s at the negotiating table, on the picket line, or in politics,” added Burnham. “If union members stick together and support Zack for endorsement, we can send a clear message that working people are united behind a candidate who will fight for transparency, accountability, and fairness across Minnesota.”
