Mental Health Resources

Mental health and wellness at work are just as important as physical health and safety. In addition to resources that may be available through your union, we have compiled resources that are available to everyone.

Get Immediate Support

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis or needs immediate support, help is available:

  • Call or text 988 or visit 988lifeline.org. The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline can provide support if you are struggling yourself or help you figure out how to support someone else.
  • Find additional local and regional options through NAMI Minnesota’s crisis resources.

Contract Language & Bargaining Considerations

Mental health and wellness can also be addressed through collective bargaining. Resources and examples include:

  • Improving access to mental health services
  • Reviewing short-term and long-term disability benefits for limitations or unequal treatment of mental health conditions and services
  • Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) and other mental health and wellness benefits
  • Have mental health language in your contract? Submit it for other unions to review!
