Knock Knock. Labor 2010 is Ready to Rock!
Duluth, MN --Over a dozen union volunteers gathered for the North East Area Labor Council's Labor 2010 Kick-off event on Tuesday night at the Duluth Labor Temple. Members were welcomed by NE ALC staffer Chad McKenna and Minnesota AFL-CIO President Shar Knutson. Volunteers were given a brief training then let loose on Duluth and Cloquet's neighborhoods to talk with other members about issues that affect the middle class.
Volunteers from the NALC, AFSCME, CWA, Working America, Workers United, Laborers, and IUOE participated in the doorknock. This Labor 2010 Kick-off is part of a statewide effort to elect a Governor who will stand up for working families and the middle class.
Earlier this week, St. Paul Regional Labor Federation and Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation held their kick-off events. We hope to post rundowns of their activities soon.
