St. Paul Union Job and Resource Fair

June 4, 2020 - 3:00pm to 6:00pm

The fifth annual Union Job and Resource Fair returns this April 2nd with a new lineup of employers and resources offering jobs, training opportunities, and helpful information. It is held at the Electrical Industry Building, 1330 Conway Street, Saint Paul, MN 55106 (conveniently located on the 63K bus route, which stops at 3rd St. E. and Clarence St.)

Employers will be hiring for union positions in fields such as Construction, Manufacturing, Government, School Building Custodial and Food Service Work, Healthcare, Hospitality, and Retail. Union representatives will be on hand to discuss high-quality, paid vocational training opportunities where you can “earn while you learn.” There will be information on the advantages of union membership, neighborhood and national union history, and record expungement. The event is designed not only for ready-to-hire job seekers but also for young people just starting to build their career paths, and even people wondering, “What is a union? What do unions do?” Speakers of many languages will be available to greet and interpret at the event. Everyone is welcome to attend!

The event is organized each year by the Saint Paul Regional Labor Federation, the Saint Paul Building & Construction Trades, the City of St. Paul, United Food & Commercial Workers Local 1189, and the East Side Freedom Library.

“Unions are a powerful force in our community, and a union job is one of the best ways for working people to earn family-supporting wages, health insurance benefits and retirement security,” says Kera Peterson, President of the 56,000 member Saint Paul Regional Labor Federation, AFL-CIO. “As a labor movement we work to raise awareness of the importance of workers coming together in union, and
to welcome all workers into our union family. The Union Job and Resource Fair is a great opportunity to share our message with people who live and work in East Metro area, and we’re proud that many unions and union employers are joining us.”
