East Side Freedom Library Annual Labor Solidarity Picnic

September 12, 2026
1:00PM - 4:00PM

East Side Freedom Library
1105 Greenbrier St
Saint Paul, MN 55106

This year’s theme is Labor and Freedom, and we’ll spend the afternoon celebrating working people with good food, live music, and inspiring updates from the front lines of the labor movement.

What to expect:

➤ Picnic food and soft drinks provided (weather permitting, we’ll gather on our beautiful front lawn!)

➤ Sing-alongs led by the Twin Cities Labor Chorus, Emmett Doyle, and others

➤ A silent auction benefiting ESFL’s Labor & Solidarity Programming in 2027

Speakers:

All of our speakers will offer us strategies and invitations to get involved in making life better for all working people!

➤ Max Graves, Outreach Coordinator and Labor Liaison for End Slavery in Minnesota, on the campaign to restore incarcerated workers’ rights and secure legal minimum wage for all

➤ Tricia Ryshkus, RN and Minnesota Nurses Association member, on the corporatization of healthcare and her union’s fight for both workers and patients

➤ Dave Cook (President, St. Paul American Postal Workers Union) and Greg Teigland (President, Minneapolis American Postal Workers Union), on threats to privatize the Postal Service and vote-by-mail

➤ ESFL staff, sharing updates on their programs and projects

Bring your appetite, your singing voice, and your solidarity!
