Delta Workers Set Union Vote
Non-union workers at Delta Airlines will finally have the opportunity to join their brothers and sisters from the former Northwest Airlines and organize. The International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers who represent baggage handlers and customer-service workers along with the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA are asking for votes now that a judge has declared the merged airlines to be a single carrier. What's more, new rules will ensure the majority of voters will decide the representation issue instead of having "no" votes assigned to people who do not vote. Last week, Delta indicated it would not appeal the court's ruling.
