Nellie Stone Johnson Scholarship Applications Open

Applications for the 2024-2025 academic year continue to be accepted. The Nellie Stone Johnson Scholarship is available to union member students of color who are planning to or currently attend Minnesota State College System. Minnesota State consists of 31 technical colleges, community colleges and/or universities throughout the state and offers thousands of programs taught by exceptional faculty.

To be eligible, a scholarship applicant must be a person of color, and a union member or be the child, grandchild, or spouse of a union member. Scholarships are awarded to both full-time and part-time students who will be attending a Minnesota State tech or community college or state university in the fall of 2024.

Scholarship amounts are up to:

$2,500 for full-time students (12 or more credits undergraduate or 6 credits or more graduate)

$1,200.00 for part-time students (6-11 credits undergraduate work)

Scholarships are given each year to students who enroll in two/four year, undergraduate or graduate program. Scholarships may be renewed for up to two years for community or technical college programs, up to four years for students working toward a bachelor's degree, and two years for those enrolled in a master's program.
