2014 Precinct Caucus Information
Support your union and Minnesota’s working families by participating in your local precinct caucus. Anyone can attend the precinct caucuses!
Minnesota’s major political parties will hold precinct caucuses on Tuesday, February 4.
At your precinct caucus, you can:
▪ Influence party platforms and speak out against anti-union and anti-middle class legislation and constitutional amendments
▪ Become a delegate to endorsing conventions
▪ Elect local party leaders
What specifically happens at the caucuses?
▪ Party platform resolutions. You can submit and vote on resolutions that will become part of the party platforms. You will find sample resolutions here. If you don’t speak out for your union and working people of Minnesota who will?
▪ Election of delegates to endorsing conventions. Each precinct elects delegates and alternates to party endorsing conventions. As a delegate, you vote on which candidates get the party endorsement.
▪ Election of local party leaders. Local leaders, including caucus, precinct and senate district or county unit chairs are elected.
