House “Budget Bill” Hurts Middle Class Families
Minnesota AFL-CIO President Shar Knutson issued the following statement after the Minnesota House passed HF 130:
“The legislators who voted for this bill are making middle-class families shoulder the burden of Minnesota’s revenue shortfall.
This legislation would mean even higher property taxes, more tuition increases, and more painful cuts to vital services like police and fire protection.
These are the same Tim Pawlenty-style policies that put Minnesota in our current fiscal crisis.
We are confident that Governor Dayton will present a budget that addresses our state’s revenue shortfall fairly and lays the groundwork to build a better Minnesota.”
