GOP Budget Targets a Job Killer

50% cut to job creation tools

Responding to the Legislative Republicans’ all-cuts state budget targets, Minnesota AFL-CIO President Shar Knutson issued the following statement:

“Middle class families looking for relief from sluggish job growth and regressive property taxes will be sorely disappointed with the Senate Republicans’ budget targets.

“Draconian cuts to job creation tools and our colleges and universities are job killers that take Minnesota backwards.

“These budget targets are more of the same failed Tim Pawlenty policies that have let our economy stagnate and increased taxes on middle class families.

“Fortunately, Governor Dayton’s budget invests in job creation without increasing a single penny of taxes on middle class Minnesotans.”
