Pawlenty Budget Anti-Jobs

“Governor Palwenty’s budget is a job killer,” Wayne Cox, executive director of Minnesota Citizens for Tax Justice, said Monday. “Its first order of business is to eliminate good jobs.”

“Minnesotans should expect significant job losses in health services and police and fire protection if Pawlenty’s budget becomes law. His solution to the lack of jobs is to take even more paychecks off of Main Street. Minnesota businesses need more customers with paychecks, not less.

“Minnesota has fewer persons working than when he took office seven years ago. If he has his way, there will be fewer still.

“His so-called jobs plan is a failed one. With the exception of the Angel Investment Tax Credit, he has proposed the type of tax breaks for businesses that failed to produce jobs for George Bush, for Tim Pawlenty or for Minnesota.
