Save the date! Precinct Caucuses will be held at 7:00pm, Tuesday, February 2 statewide.
Precinct caucuses are an opportunity for union members to help build party support for the candidate of their choice. Caucuses are also an opportunity to advance specific issues of importance to working families – and a great place for union members to increase their involvement in the political process.
Download Minnesota AFL-CIO resolutions and print off to take to your caucuses to further the working families agenda. There are nineteen sample caucus resolutions to download, or one document for you to easily bring with you. Some resolutions have "whereas" clauses attached to give you some very brief talking points. All of the resolutions are important, with special emphasis given to the ones on jobs and revenue.

ATTENTION 6th CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT DELEGATES
Union members living in the 6th Congressional District should also support State Senator Tarryl Clark (DFL-St. Cloud) at caucuses. Tarryl Clark is endorsed by the Minnesota AFL-CIO for the 6th district. She is a true friend of labor, with a stellar ninety-eight percent Minneosoa AFL-CIO lifetime voting record. She deserves our support to defeat U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann.

This year, precinct caucuses will include a non-binding straw poll for governor. Caucus participants also will elect delegates and alternates to Senate district conventions – the next step in the parties' process of endorsing candidates for governor – and county conventions.
Caucuses are open to residents of the precinct who identify themselves as a member of the particular party and will be eligible to vote in the next election (Nov. 2, 2010).
