Minnesota AFL-CIO President Shar Knutson announced Tuesday that Chris Shields will serve as Minnesota AFL-CIO’s Communications Director.
Shields brings a strong background in media relations and communications to the Minnesota AFL-CIO. “In this tough economy, it’s important that working families have a strong voice across the state of Minnesota,” said Knutson. “Chris brings the expertise union members can count on to move working families issues forward.
Shields currently serves as Senior Communications Manager at Minnesota 2020, a Saint Paul-based think tank. He also has experience as a television reporter and producer as well as in media relations at the Minnesota House of Representatives. He holds a Bachelors Degree from the Missouri School of Journalism. Shields begins work on February 23.
