What We Won on Tuesday
Despite what some may say, Tuesday was a win for Minnesota’s labor movement. For the first time in 24 years, Minnesotans elected a labor-endorsed candidate to the Governor’s office. Labor will finally have a seat at the table in the Governor’s office. We should be proud of all the doorknocks, phone calls, and worksite contacts we made. Labor made the difference.
Don’t buy into the spin; Mark Dayton won this election. While Mark’s margin of victory will likely trigger an automatic recount; there is no possibility of these results being overturned. We now have work to do. Mark Dayton will need our help in getting a working families agenda through a potentially hostile legislature. It’s time to stand up and keep fighting.
